DIY Conservatories - FAQ:

Q, Will I really save money buying a DIY conservatory?
A, Yes- for a 3m x 3m conservatory you can expect
to save £1500-£2500. Easily enough for you to build
the brickwork, fit the conservatory, install electrics
and you may have enough to do the floor.

Q, What do I do about base and wall sizes?
A, New style will supply an easy to understand base
and brickwork plan, giving you or your builder the
exact dimensions so that your conservatory will fit
perfectly.

Q, How high are the dwarf walls?
A, 600mm is a normal height.

Q, How high are the window frames?
A, Window frames are supplied at 1470mm with a 30mm outer cill giving an overall frame height of 1500mm and an overall conservatory height up to roofline of 2100mm.

Q, How difficult is it to build my conservatory?
A, Just basic handyman skills are required, no special tools are required.

Q, How many people do you need to build a conservatory?
A, One person can build a conservatory with the aid of clamps and possibly a small scaffold tower, which you would find a great help when it comes to supporting the ridge while you are fixing the glazing roof bars into place, but an helping hand is advisable.

Q, Do I have a choice on the colour of the polycarbonate roof?
A, yes, either clear, bronze or opal for low-medium sunlight positions or heat-guard (Silver/opal) for a high sun position this can help prevent heat build up by significantly reducing the amount of heat allowed to pass into your conservatory by reflecting more of the solar rays of the sun.

Q, How thick is the polycarbonate?
A, 25mm.

Q, Can I specify an obscure glass in one or more sides of my conservatory.
A, Yes, just let us know which side and pattern you would like.

Q, Is the glass toughened safety glass.
A, Yes, all our glass supplied is toughened not just the lower units as required by law, but all of them, (after all kids will be kids).
